Peggy Sue and the Pirates

This is one of the bands I found a while ago, but forgot about.

The "band" consists of two friends Rosa Rex and Katy Raw and their guitar "Stud" which they are refering to as their boyfriend. They sing in beautiful harmonies, a selection of ‘doo-be-doos’ and an armful of bass lines and began gigging in Brighton at the beginning of 2006. Every month of 2008 the duo will be releasing (like many artist did before;i.e. Bishop Allen, Jon Foreman) a limited edition CD featuring demos of old and new songs and covers they like. All will be recorded in one day, and tracklist will be revealed last day of each month. I hope they will release an album afterwards with favorite tracks, since importing all those albums would be a little too pricey!

Jen Lane

Jen Lane is a rising Canadian recording and performing musician from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. At just 16 years old, her self-produced debut CD, "Sleepless", was nominated by the Prairie Music Alliance for Outstanding Album-Independent, at the 2000 Prairie Music Awards.
Jen has been very busy since the release of "Injection", producing two demo CDs. before turning her attention to recording a full-on, self-produced, commerical radio-ready album. This release, called appropriately enough, "Jen Lane", went on to receive a $10 000 grant and lots of airplay from Rawlco Radio.
Keep your ears to the ground; you'll lose yourself in her beautiful music.

An Horse

An Horse used to be about procrastination. An Horse was Kate Cooper’s way of not doing things that she was meant to be doing. Like studying or assignments. But Kate finished university. She got a couple of degrees, then started law school but soon decided that perhaps these law folk weren’t her people. So she started playing music with Damon Cox. They still play music together. Late last year they recorded their debut EP "Not Really Scared" with famed producer Magoo. It's available now. They also toured with Tegan and Sara.
